Committee Description:
AELC represents a cooperative effort between the AIA/Michigan, MSPE and ACEC/Michigan formed to address political issues affecting engineers and architects. The Committee has “Rules of Operation and Procedure” which defines its purpose and scope of activities. AELC meets at least quarterly and coordinates legislative activities for the three organizations. AELC has hired and provides direction to their lobbyist, Kelly Cawthorne. Qualifications-Based Selection (QBS), professional licensing issues and tort reform are major areas of interest.
