Vivian Moeglein, ACEC’s Senior Policy Advisor for Transportation Programs, is reminding members that ACEC is kicking off a series of online seminars regarding AASHTO’s new Uniform Audit and Accounting Guide, beginning Tuesday, October 27.
ACEC’s online seminars present an ideal opportunity for firms to hear firsthand from state DOT, FHWA and industry leaders who helped to craft the new guide. Please note, due to the popularity of the sessions, we are encouraging firms to sign up early so we are able to properly process your registration. It is important to note that many of your State DOT clients have already signed up for these sessions, reinforcing the importance of learning the new Guide.
The new Audit Guide — which FHWA plans to incorporate into future regulations — changes how engineering firms are compensated and audited. For your reference, we have provided the final draft of the new Audit Guide below, which AASHTO is scheduled to approve this week at their annual meeting. You will notice that the new Audit Guide is almost three times as long as the previous version! If you don’t have time to read the 197 pages of the new Guide, compare it to the previous version and determine what new steps you need to take – then please take the time to register for ACEC’s webinar series so you have the most critical information presented to you in a concise manner.
The first seminar in the series, AASHTO’s New Uniform Audit and Accounting Guide – Understanding New State DOT Compensation and Audit Rules That Will Affect Your Bottom Line (click to register), will provide an overview of the new Audit Guide and highlight major changes between the new and old guide. The seminar will be presented by Jerry Jones (Chair of AASHTO’s Audit Subcommittee), David Bruce (FHWA), Lynda Konomos (Chair of ACEC’s Audit Subcommittee) and Julie Garber (ACEC Audit Guide Steering Committee member). This session will be repeated on November 10th (click to register).
