A complex design survey of I-75 over the Rouge River and Fort Street in Detroit mapped two miles of eight-lane highway and two bridge structures for the Michigan Department of Transportation to design future deck replacements. Data was edited, merged and delivered using the largest application of MTL scanning, STLS scanning, and conventional surveying ever performed in Michigan.

Violation notices from MDEQ mandated that Berlin remove excess I/I within its sanitary facilities. F&V deployed a new Mass Flow Monitoring process that collected over one million measurements – a 17x improvement over traditional methods. A focused analysis diagnosed priority sections for rehabilitation, resulting in reducing flows by 50% and I/I by 80%.

The DTE Energy Duct Bank, M-1 project included installation of 3.3 miles of new duct bank for electrical distribution. The $22 million investment was conceived as a future benefit to DTE distribution operations as the new ducts significantly increase capacity in and around the M-1 corridor.

ROWE Professional Services Company
ROWE PSC managed a team of consultants to design a 1.4-mile, 78-inch diameter pipeline into Lake Huron to intake water for a new regional water supply. ROWE also provided construction observation for the intake, which utilized microtunneling to promote safety and divers to lay pipe under the lake.

Vehicle Test Facility
The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc.
Mcity contains extensive “real-world” roadway environments for advancing autonomous and connected vehicle (ACV) technology, as well as providing MDOT with direct access and interface with the UM and Industry researchers. The goal of Mcity is to make vehicles “smarter” so that drivers are no longer needed.
