Future of Engineering Leadership

ACEC/Michigan strives to provide member firms with timely and relevant information in support of the Michigan consulting engineering community. As the current generation of leadership moves closer to retirement, it is important for firms to understand generational workforce priorities to position themselves for future success. In response to this, ACEC/Michigan engaged a professional leadership development firm (MPact Partners) to better understand the preferences of the next generation, including:

  • What are the needs and expectations of the next generation of firm leaders?
  • How does the next generation of leaders view their engineering/surveying careers and engagement in the industry?
  • What are the needs and drivers of engagement with the next generation of leaders?
  • What can firms do to better position themselves for the next generation of leaders?

The results of this study were shared during a webinar on June 20, 2024.
