Road Funding

We all know Michiganβs roads are a mess, but the situation will be worse if the legislature fails to act before October 1st.
Michigan is facing a major drop in road repair funding and without a solution, we will continue to lose ground on maintaining and improving our roads and bridges. The House has passed a plan and the Governor has put forth her solution, but we have not seen a plan from the Senate. We are making progress and the transportation industry is already geared up to tackle the badly needed repairs.
If you think our roads are bad now, imagine what will happen if the Senate does not begin to negotiate for additional road funding:
- Bigger potholes mean bigger auto repair bills.
- Bad roads will kill Michigan jobs and economic development.
- And delayed infrastructure maintenance will cost taxpayers even more money down the road.
The "Engineering Solutions for Michigan's Road Funding Crisis" campaign was launched on August 11 and will have live operators calling Michigan residents to connect them directly with their local Senator and ask them to find a road funding solution.Β You can be part of the bipartisan effort!
Today, we're urging you to contact your State Senator to support a fix for Michiganβs road funding crisis.
Our campaign is focusing on key districts around the state, but ANY Michigander can call their lawmakerβs office directly on any topic. If you are passionate about a long term road funding plan, you can find the number to your Senatorβs office on the State Senate website and under the βFind My Senatorβ option. The more voices, the better.
